Courtney Maree Reiman, DACM, LAc. is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and a board certified acupuncturist and clinical herbalist. Her clinical experience includes rotations at San Francisco Women’s Resource Center, the Haight Ashbury Clinic, ACTCM Community Clinic, ACTCM Ear Clinic, and a rare visit to San Quentin State Prison where she provided auricular acupuncture for inmates. Courtney received her education from the American College for Traditional Chinese Medicine. As a part of her clinical training, Courtney also studied at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in Hangzhou, China, where she received advanced training in orthopedics and gynecology.
Courtney has always been passionate about women’s health and it was an exceptional opportunity in Bali that gave her an experience of a lifetime – to assist in a birth at the Yayasan Bumi Sehat Birthing Clinic in Ubud – that sealed her intention. Upon returning, Courtney trained as a doula and this, together with her own experience as a new mom, has informed her work with her fertility, pregnant and postpartum patients.
Courtney also enjoys helping patients who struggle with pain. As a former professional ballet dancer and current yoga teacher, she uses her anatomical awareness and training in orthopedics to guide patient care.
Life has taken Courtney traveling throughout the world, and in particular, studying the languages, philosophy, and spirituality of Eastern cultures. Courtney holds a B.A. in Japanese language and East Asian Studies and is a Boren Scholar which awarded her a full scholarship to pursue her undergraduate studies in Nagoya, Japan.
